This bench is a good copy of designer George Nelson's famous 1946 platform bench, which is a landmark of modern design. The clean, rectilinear lines reflect designer George Nelson's architectural background and his insistence on what he called "honest" design - making an honest visual statement about an object's purpose. For a fraction of the price of the original, I have exactly what Nelson intended in my home -- a multipurpose display and resting place that looks great in virtually any situation. We ordered the natural color bench in 5 foot length. I as a little nervous about ordering from a company with only a web presence, but the customer service was great as is the product. The bench shipped very quickly and arrived before we knew it! It looks beautiful in our family room and will make an excellent coffee table. it appears ell built, and should last us a very long time. Who needs to buy an original super-expensive **** bench when you can get this ridiculously low priced copy on INTERIOR TRADE FURNITURE? This is just like the real thing.
